Sheriff's Toy Project!

"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."

October is one of my favorite times of the year for many reasons, most notably now that the San Francisco Giants are in the postseason!  In all seriousness, I love this time of year most because this is when giving comes most greatly into focus.  There are so many people who have less than my family, and the holidays are when I like to find little ways to bring happiness to others.  One of my absolute favorites is through the Sheriff's Toy Project, which reaches across Sacramento County in its mission to serve less fortunate children and families.

Since its formation in 1984, the Sheriff's Toy Project has touched thousands of lives, most recognizably through its Santa Claus Project, where Sheriff's deputies give out stockings and gifts each Christmas Eve to the homeless and to children in area hospitals who are undergoing chemotherapy or suffering from other illnesses.  Throughout the year, the organization accepts a variety of donations from new unwrapped toys, food and blankets, to used vehicle donations.  Although the work it does comes primarily into focus around the holidays, it is extremely active throughout the year in filling the needs of struggling families and individuals.

On November 7th, the Sheriff's department will be delivering our bins to our office (see below), and we'd love your help in filling them up as fast as possible!  We are a proud partner of the Sheriff's Toy Project in helping them promote their cause, and have a tremendous amount of respect for all of the hard work they put in and lives they have touched because of the generosity of people like you.   If you're a business owner, I'd like to challenge you to get some bins of your own and bring in more toys than us!  Everyone, particularly us coaches, loves a friendly competition especially when we see other people helped and lives changed.

Please give the Sheriff's Toy Project a look at www.toyproject.org to find out other ways to get involved, or feel free to reach out to me and I'd be happy to put you in touch with the Officers who are heading it up.  Happy October to you all, go Giants, and go Sheriff's Toy Project!

As a reminder, our charitable event set for 10/10/14 got too big (over 20 artists committed in less than two weeks) and as a result, we needed to change venues.  We are set for January 2015, so keep your eyes out for an invite as it will be a smash.   With your help, we should be able to break records for local charities in need!

Best,
